Are there any Japanese athletes named Date, from around 1988?

During the 1988 Seoul Olympics, I recall seeing a swimming event in which a Japanese participant was named Date. I think the athlete was female but I'm not sure (I was 7 at that time). Does someone know who I'm talking about?
