I need inspiration for centerpieces for an Information Technology/Telephone party.... no "geek" stuff, pls.

We're hiring a new IT Director. Need to create centerpieces from computer parts / telephones / etc. - also room displays, etc. Any and all creative ideas would be welcome - altho I am trying to avoid the stereotypical "geek" IT stuff (pocket protectors, black gles, etc.) Thanks!!!!
