My cat has gone crazy after i let her out of the room?

i adopted a cat from the shelter, they say shes calm and loving and she seemed that way when i got her. the specialist told me to keep her in a room for 3 weeks, so i did. now that i let her out shes gone ballistic and is running everywhere, i try to catch her and put her back but shes hissing and scared what should i do?
